The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is pleased to announce the issuance of a draft solicitation (BEP-01-01) for the procurement of Distinctive Currency Paper for industry comment. All interested suppliers are encouraged to submit questions regarding the draft solicitation and specification or suggestions to remove competition barriers. It is noted that the specification is being updated and revised, the current version of the specification is provided for informational purposes. The anticipated period of performance is November 2001 through October 2005. Estimated quantities are not known at this time, the Government's currency program for FY 2000 is provided to give interested suppliers an idea of volume levels. The draft solicitation provides for the possibility of multiple and spilt awards by paper type and denomination. The planned contract type is multiyear fixed price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity. In addition, the draft solicitation provides for the possibility of a mobilizationperiod for a new supplier. The draft solicitation with all attachments is available for review on the Internet at GSA's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) (formerly Electronic Posting System (EPS)) website @ http://www.eps.gov. Click on FBO for Vendors, then on Department of Treasury, then Bureau of Engraving and Printing, then Posted Dates, look under August 03, 2000. It is the Bureau's intent to continuously update this draft solicitation as Government requirements are finalized and to address industry's comments and concerns.
