STUDY OF MEDICAID DRUG UTILIZATION REVIEW AND MANAGED CARE The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to negotiate and award a contract to the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), Inc., on a sole source basis in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement will provide HCFA with access to the USP Drug Information database which will be used to analyze therapeutic decision making of traditional Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care programs regarding medically accepted off-label uses of medications. USP, Inc. will also perform an analysis of and identify best practices of both the Medicaid Drug Utilization Review programs and Medicaid Managed Care programs.
