The USDA Forest Service, Region 5 (California) has requirement for professional services (to be used in various combinations) to install permanent forest sample plots, remasure existing plots, and to measure and record vegetation data that describes those plots. The goal of this project is to inventory approximately 3,000,000 acres per year of National Forest land in California. Plot locations will be orovided by the Government. Plots will generally be distributed on a 6000 acre grid across National Forest lands, including wilderness and non-forest lands. Special inventory projects, such as plantation inventories, may also be included. Contractor shall provide all staffinf, travel, overhead and supplies except those listed under Government Furnished Property in the solicitation. This will be an IDIQ requirements contract with a maximum ceiling of $800,000.00 per year. The Government is not obligated to order the maximum amount. The minimum amount is $25,000.00 per year. To be eligible, firms must have an office in either: California, Oregon, or Nevada. This project is both open to large and small business firms. The firms must demonstrate a certain level of expertise in order to be selected. 3 to 4 contractors will be selected for a one year performance period with two one year options. After award, selected contractors will compete for individual work assignmrnts, which range from $5,000 to $100,000 with a majority of these assignments, costing less than $40,000.
