Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to procure a Cluster System with the following system requirements: System Design: Standard 19" Rack Mountable cases, Gigabit Network with all necessary cables and Gigabit Network. Switch: Single 100 MBit network connection to the building network; OS will be Linux with BEOWULF clustering. This will be a cluster of 8 computers, one primary and seven secondrary systems. The Primary system should be more powerful than the secondary systems. The Secondary system should be the same as each other. The requirement is for at least two years 24 daily phone support with at least one year on site. The cluster should be set up, configured, and burned at the factory. The Primary Computer must include the following: Dual PIII 700 Mhz Processors, 1 Gig SDRAM, Gigabit Network Card, 100 Mbit Network Card, 40x CD-ROM, SVGA Video Card, 18 GB SCSI Hard Drive, 4x73GB Seagate SCSI HDD, Configured as RAID, Adaptec SCSI Controller, and Floppy. The Secondary Computers must include the following: Single or dual PIII 600 Mhz, Three 20 Gig UDMA EIDE Hard Drives, Gigabit Network Card, CE-ROM, Floppy, and Video Card.
