The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resource Division, Lawrence, Kansas, has a requirement for specific make and model of YSI equipment. Equipment shall be able of measuring dissolved oxygen, temperature, specific conductance, pH, ORP, ammonium, nitrate, chloride, turbidity, fluorescence, chlorophyll, and dissolved oxygen. The YSI 6600 and 6600-02 are suited to do this monitoring and they are the only monitoring equipment on the market that has a port for chlorophyll that does not require an external pump. These monitors will be used by the Hydrologic Studies and Data Management Sections to monitor water quality by ongoing data-collection field activities in streams, lakes, and ground water.
