The amendment to the solicitation for mainframe ethernet controller is to clarify parts 6 and 7 of the specifications for CLIN 0001 Mainframe-to-Ethernet TCP/IP Controller (Bus-Tech Netshuttle 140, or equivalent). The corrected version of parts 6 & 7 of the specifications are presented in full text below. AS A RESULT OF THESE CHANGES, THE RESPONSE DATE IS EXTENDED TO 3:00PM AUGUST 24, 2000. ALL OTHER PORTIONS OF THIS COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION REMAIN UNCHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT MADE AUGUST 9, 2000. The corrected text for specifications 6 & 7 of CLIN 0001 are as follows: (6) the device shall fit into a standard EIA 19" rack; (7) physical dimensions shall not exceed 7.0"H x 17"W x 26"L. THE INTENT IS NOT THAT THE PROPOSED ETHERNET CONTROLLER BOLT INTO THE ENCLOSURE, BUT RATHER THAT IT SIMPLY BE SMALL ENOUGH TO REST ON A SHELF IN THE ENCLOSURE. THE VENDOR MAY, HOWEVER, PROPOSE A UNIT THAT WILL BOLT INTO THE EXISTING WRIGHTLINE TECH I ENCLOSURE. EITHER APPROACH IS SATISFACTORY. For information, call the POC identified above.
