The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to procure services of a vendor to provide sequence data, protocols and materials to the CDC Rubella Virus Laboratory and to also provide clones, information and protocols necessary to allow the laboratory to evaluate the utility of new diagnostic methods. Provide limited nucleic acid sequences of rubella viruses from an estimated fifty (50) specimens provided by CDC. Sequences should allow comparison of new rubella virus sequences with sequences of other known viruses. Provide Plasmids from which rubella virus RNAs which are infectious and express foreign genes can be made. The anticipated sole source vendor for this requirement is Georgia State University based on their experience in performing limited sequencing and analyzing of rubella viruses to determine the relationships between rubella virus strains.
