Description

On or about 11 October 2000, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Environmental Restoration Project, Colfax Reach, South Platte River, Denver, CO. Bids will be opened on or about 14 November 2000. This solicitation is restricted to small business participation. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Resident Engineer, Denver Resident Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Stop 53, Buckley ANG Base, Aurora, CO 80011-9599 Telephone: (303) 367-0335. FAX (303) 367-0357. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See "Ordering" below. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) The project consists of Clearing and Grubbing, Approximately 45,000 CY of Channel Excavation, Approximately 7,000 CY of Fill, Grading, Approximately 1,200 CY of Riprap Excavation and Placement, Approximately 2,400 tons of new Riprap, Dewatering and River Diversion, 3 Each Rock Grade Control Structures, Structures, 2 Each Shot-crete Jetties, Storm Sewer Outfall Modifications, Retaining Walls, Chain Link Fence, Abandonment of 3 Each Observation Wells and Piezometers, Multi-use Trail Replacement, Topsoil, and an Irrigation System, and Vegetation. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 540 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. The plans and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
