- Description
- NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV, China Lake, CA intends to negotiate on an other-than-competitive basis with SEI, Asheville, NC a modification to Order 0007 under BOA Number N68936-00-G-0001 for Thin-Pack Parachute (TPP) systems, components, related assemblies, engineering/logistical support and other services. Order 0007 is a cost plus fixed fee order for contractor support in providing packing, marking and shipping for TPP systems, components and assemblies manufactured by SEI for delivery to Government-directed sites and agencies. The proposed modification is to increase the maximum number of Thin-Pack parachutes systems, assemblies and components to be shipped from the Contractor's bonded storage to Government destinations from 790 to 2,766. SEI is the only source producing Thin-Pack Parachute Systems using the Thin-Pack/Lightweight Environmentally Sealed Parachute Assembly (LESPA) technology and is the only source to pack, mark and ship TPP systems without violating existing warranties. Thin-Pack Parachute drawing packages and associated packing, sealing, and closing processes has proprietary markings, making required design and maintenance information unreleasable. Period of performance will remain unchanged from May 16, 2000 through 30 Sep 2001. Place of performance: contractor's facility Asheville, NC. FOB Origin. Solicitation will be issued on or about November 15, 2000 and will be available through the NAWCWD 2.0 Contracts Competency home page at http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/~contract/homepubl.htm. Closing date 30 days after issuance. Anticipate award 45 days after synopsis. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation, which will be considered by the Agency. Interested parties other than SEI must respond in writing (via mail, email, or fax) demonstrating the offeror's experience and capabilities in parachutes incorporating the Thin-Pack technology and the level of maintenance support required by the Government. Phone Number: (760) 939-8234, Fax: (760) 939-7510. Address: Commander Code 210000D, Attn: William T. Monckton, NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV, 1 Administration Circle, Bldg. 20259, China Lake, CA 93555-6100.
