- Description
- Naval Air Systems Command intends to modify R&D contract N00019-93-C-0006 to support CV-22 Aircraft (Air Force) maintenance training requirements. Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office (JPO), 22398 James Rd. Patuxent River, MD 20670 will perform the effort. The Contractor will be responsible for total system design and development of an Expedient Maintenance Trainer (CV-EMT). The CV-EMT will consist of CV-22 maintenance part task trainers and related components to be co-located with the V-22 Naval Aviation Maintenance Trainer Suite (NAMTS) at New River MCAS, Jacksonville, North Carolina. The Bell-Boeing team is the designer, developer and sole producer of the CV-22 tilt rotor aircraft and is currently performing the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) and the low-rate initial-production (LRIP) of these aircraft. Under contract N00019-93-C-0006, Bell-Boeing is responsible for the trainers. Bell-Boeing is the only source that possesses the engineering data; technical skills; and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, and operational characteristics of the CV-22 aircraft to design and build the CV-EMT. **See Note 22**
