Description
This project consists of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the existing Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) Waterborne (W) at the Curtis Bay Ordinance Depot. The base bid consists of reconstruction of 1,200 linear feet of the existing pier and wharf and related site improvements and supporting utilities. Bid options to the proposal are as follows: (1) reconstruction of an additional 300 linear feet of wharf, (2) construction of a fire separation wall in Building 1003, (3) renovation of 13,200 square feet into office and storage space in Building 1001 and related site improvements and supporting utilities, (4) providing and installing pallet racks, caging and shelving in Building 1001 and (5) construction of 240 square feet of unheated pre-engineered storage building. The pier repair scheme will install a deep concrete sheet pile/bearing cutoff wall behind the existing steel sheet pile wall that has rusted through, a pile cap beam/bearing seat, dead man tiebacks, soil anchors and appropriate connections to the existing concrete bulkhead. Renovation of Building 1001 includes removal of abatement of corrugated cement asbestos roof panels, removal of masonry walls and windows, repair of the existing trusses, a new concrete slab topping, new masonry walls, partitions, windows, doors, restrooms, HVAC and electrical. Site demolition includes removal of railroad tracks and roadbed. Other site work includes new bituminous and concrete pavement and new utilities. The estimated cost range of this project is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) and offers will be evaluated on the following criteria, listed in descending order of importance: (1) Past Experience/Performance, (2) Administration/Management Information, (3) Socio Economic Goals (subcontracting plan) and (4) Price Proposal. This project will be available on compact disk only and will be available on or about 24 November 2000. The estimated proposal due date is 26 December 2000 at 4:00 p.m. eastern time.
