Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for an electrical control system for FENN rolling mill. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Fenn Manufacturing Company. This is a sole source. It is an upgrade for existing equipment. The required replacement control system from Fenn Manufacturing is required since the age of the equipment and the original, proprietary design is such that available parts from a substitute supplier can not ensure proper form, fit and function of the mill. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
