- This modification is issued to incorporate the following: First Article Testing shall consist of The Radome Assembly will be visually inspected to verify acceptable workmanship. The radome Assembly will be measured at various points to verify size and shape is an acceptable duplication of the GFE Radome. The Radome Assembly will be weighed to verify overall weight is within acceptable limits. The Radome Assembly will be fitted onto a tool plate replicating the EA-6B airframe contour to verify the mounting flange mates with clearance gaps of 0.062 inches or less. The tool plate used for inspecting the mounting flange shall be straight in the longitudinal direction within 0.004 inches and shall have a 101.0 radius in the lateral direction within 0.004 inches. The Contractor's description of design, construction and fabrication process will be reviewed to verify laminate properties and to ensure repeatability throughout production. The tooling will not be provided. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to successfully develop the tooling. Note number 3 shown on drawing 6Y3585, 1A states tooling for 2 Radome available in NADEP NORVA PLASTIC shop. The tooling is not available. The Government disposed of this tooling when Naval Aviation Depot Norfolk Virginia was closed several years ago. Best commercial practices shall be used in lieu of process specifications LPS626 and LPS565 are mentioned on Drawing 6Y3585. Along with your quote, include a description of design, construction and fabrication processes. The following is a revision to the delivery schedule: 40 Days after receipt of order, First Article is due to NSWC; 40 Days after receipt of order Telephone Conference to be held by NSWC and Contractor; 40 Days After receipt of order, Optional Site Visit. 50 Days after receipt of order, First Article Approval/Disapproval; 75 Days after receipt of order and successful passing of First Article Testing, Lot 1, quantity 20 is due to NSWC; 120 Days after receipt of order and successful passing of First Article Testing, Lot 2, quantity 24 is due after receipt of order and successful passing of First Article Testing; 210 Days after receipt of order and successful passing of First Article Testing, Lot 3, quantity 50; 210 Days after receipt of order, return Government Furnished Property to NSWC. The closing date is revised to 27 November 00.
