Description
SUBJ: Request for Information on Prosthetics Items This is a Market Survey and Request for Information in an attempt to locate potential sources and develop evaluation criteria for the procurement of various prosthetics items. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) desires to offer its customers, on a national basis, the best possible products and prices and to offer its contractors more opportunities within the system. BIDS/OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. A formal solicitation or request for quotations may be issued at a later date. Draft product descriptions/evaluation criteria for the two product lines being considered at this time are listed below: BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORS FOR HOME USE The item described shall have/be: 1. Automatic 2. LCD read out window 3. On/off switch 4. Battery operated 5. Available with small, medium, or large cuff 6. Easy to follow instructions 7. Without stethoscope (inflate the cuff to a certain pressure and let to; the correct blood pressure is then recorded). 8. Accuracy of the machine should be verifiable 9. Readout numbers should be at least 3/8 inch or larger 10. Sounds of inflating and deflating the cuff and also the end of test 11. Lightweight 12. Arm cuff should be well marked for placing on the brachial artery TENS UNITS The item described shall have/be: 1. Dual Channel Full feature Unit 2. Variable Width (at least 40-250ms) 3. Variable Intensity 4. Variable Modes (Burst, Cont., Modulated) 5. Made in a designated country 6. Variable Duty Cycle (Requested May not be required) Potential offerors are invited to provide detailed product literature, brochures, and suggestions for alternate evaluation criteria.
