- Description
- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM INDUSTRY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. The Department of Justice is in the process of renovating the Main Justice building located at 10th and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. Part of the renovation will include (in calendar year 2002) the construction of two visitor centers which will be the entry points for the general public. In addition to security guards (Justice Protective Service) that will be stationed at each entrance, the Department is considering the installation of physical security measures that will control access to the building and detect any weapons that may be carried by a visitor. An example would be a double set of security doors with a metal detector in-between where the second door unlocks automatically only after the visitor clears the metal detector. However, because these entrances are for the general public, aesthetics and reliability are a concern. Vendors that sell devices that would accomplish this objective are requested to send descriptive literature (to include maintenance/service availability), references, and a price list to the attention of Mr. Mark Selweski at the address listed above. Information should be submitted by January 8, 2001. Any information submitted in response to this request is strictly voluntary and will become the property of the Department. The Department will use this information for planning purposes only. This request for information is not to be construed as a commitment by the Department to procure any items/services, nor for the Department to pay for the information received.
