Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Research Triangle Park, NC. intends to negotiate sole source procurement with Duke University Medical Center, Department of Anesthesiology, P.O. Box 3001, Durham, NC 27710 for the acquisition of seable raw data and lung samples. The contractor shall do PM-research experiments in isolated perfused rabbit lungs and shall provided useable raw data and lung samples. The contractor shall have the complete set-up for isolated perfused lung experiments, which include a perfusion pump, an animal respirator connected to gas mixtures, and a data recorder. Freshly-frozen tissues need to be preserved in liquid nitrogen and deliver to EPA within one hour. This is a amendment to an existing purchase order and is to increase the amount of useable monthly data being provided to EPA. EPA believes Duke University Medical Center, Department of Anesthesiology, is the only vendor capable of satisfying the requirements stated above. No Solicitation is available. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required services should fully explain their capabilities in writing within 15 days of the date of this announcement. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any sources (s) exist and, therefore, no RFP is available. Consequently, any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFP will be ignored.
