Description

The U. S. Postal Service (USPS) is seeking to pre-qualify suppliers who can provision a variety of new and retread vehicle tires, new and rebuilt vehicle batteries, provide road service for flat repair and perform mounting/dismounting services. Interested suppliers must be able to provide these supplies and services on a NATIONAL FOB Destination basis to USPS Vehicle Maintenance Facilities (VMFs) throughout the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Orders for supply items will be placed electronically and suppliers must be able to communicate via electronic data interchange with direct supplier delivery to the requiring VMF. A pre-qualification package has been developed describing this requirement and will be issued on December 29, 2000. Only those suppliers who become pre-qualified will be allowed to participate in the subsequent solicitation process. Suppliers who are interested in participating in the pre-qualification may submit a written request for the package via fax to (901) 747-7492. All responsible sources who can provision these supplies and services nationally are encouraged to obtain and submit a package. Of course, no telephone requests for the pre-qualification package will be accepted.
