- Description
- This is a Notice of Intent for USAID/Egypt to modify Contract No. 263-C-00-99-00044-00 (A & E services under the Telecommunication Sector Support project), with General Dynamics Government Systems (GD) of Chantilly, VA. This is a level of effort contract and it is anticipated to be extended for approximately 16 months with a one-year option. Among other services, GD, under its current 2 year $11 million contract, is primarily providing Telecom Egypt with engineering and construction management services for three major Design/Build (D/B) host country contracts (HCC). The three HCCs are for 1) D/B of the Telecom Egypt Network Operation Center (NOC); 2) Construction of the Outside Plan; and 3) D/B for Digital Switching Systems. For this procurement, the USAID/Egypt intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5). The purpose of this extension is to allow for the procurement and engineering construction management services to be provided to Telecom Egypt for the 3 following host country contracts: 1) Customer Care Center for the NOC; 2) Installation of a Digital Cross-Connect System and 3) Installation of a Dense Wave Division Multiplexing System. There will be no solicitation documents issued for this proposed action. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider all proposals received within forty five days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
