Description

This notice is for informational purposes only. The purpose of this notice is to state the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) intent to award a purchase order to the Colorado School of Mines, Golden CO on a sole source basis using the simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 13. A previous Cooperative Agreement was awarded in the Spring of 2000 for the research activities of the Colorado School of Mines to support the study of debris-flow hazards in the central and southern Appalachian Highlands in conjunction with the USGS. The current work to be undertaken includes developing a method for predicting debris-flow initiation areas in regions of the Appalachians prone to high rainfall. This research is a continuation and builds upon the work completed in Fiscal year 2000.
