Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to acquire engineering services and supporting technical data for the investigation of surges in the Rolls-Royce F405 Engine. Contractor will be required to perform calibration of the jetpipe to be used in flight test phase of the mitigation process and testing to evaluate flight thrust, and to provide all applicable technical data. NAVAIR anticipates award on a sole source basis to Rolls Royce, Bristol England, as an order against an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA). Rolls Royce is the sole developer and manufacturer of the F405 engine and maintains exclusive proprietary data rights to the engine. Accordingly, Rolls Royce is the only contractor capable of repairing the engine. See Note 22.
