- Description
- To furnish the services for Automatic Transfer Switch as described herein. Prior to power shutdown of the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), a complete functional test is to be performed to insure proper operation of service (ATS equipment includes a total of 21 switches consisting of ASCO, Caterpillar & Zenith switches.) After completion of this test, power is then shut down and performance of service to begin. ATS service is as follows: (1) Removal of all arch shields; (2) Cleaning and resistance testing of all contacts both Emergency and Normal sides tighten all connections, including all cable connections to specified requirements; (3) Check transfer coil and bridge rectifier for proper resistance; (4) Lubricate as required; (5) Check all control and accessory circuits for proper operation and timing cycles; (6) Vacuum and clean all components and make recommendations for any and all components that may require replacement; (7) Restore power; (8) Run complete functional test; (9) Check normal and emergency power sources and make any adjustments to emergency source if required. ELECTRICANS MUST BE CERTIFIED AND TRAIN IN WORKING ON ASCO, CATERPILLAR & ZENITH ATC SWITCHES. CONTRACTORS NOT CONFORMING TO THIS REQUIREMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AND REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE MAILED. ALL REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATIONS MUST BE IN WRITING. Requests for bid package shall also include at least 3 references of working on the three types of ATC switches stated above; otherwise request for bid package will not be considered. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All work shall be performed on premium time (after normal work hours) at this VAMC facility. SOL issue DTD o/a 1/10/01. BOD: 2/9/01 at 2:PM (EST). Contract period will be date of award, thru 9/30/01 with four one-year renewal option periods through 9/30/05.Award is subject to availability of funds.
