Description

The proposed work consists of shortening the ejector at the Hypersonic Test Facility, a hypersonic wind tunnel located in NASA's Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, OH. This will be accomplished by cutting the ejector in two separate places, with the pieces generated by the cutting removed for possible future reinstatement by NASA. After removal, the remaining sections are to be rejoined to constitute a whole ejector. In addition, a 12" hard plumbed water line will have to be disconnected, the spoolpiece removed, and a new spool fabricated; a new stanchion will be required on the site of an existing support; and a partially collapsed external flange will have to be relocated and modified. Wall thicknesses are .05" and 1.5" with the material being ASTM A515 steel, Grade 70. Welding is to be by electric shielded metal arc process. All inside surfaces and outside exposed surfaces are to be painted. A site showing has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, at 1:30 P.M.
