Description

The USDA intends to award a sole source purchase order to TA Instruments pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 (1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the following: 1) a TGA 2050 Thermogravimetric Analyzer. The salient characteristics are a temperature range ambient to 1000C; balance noise is less than 0.1 microgram; maximum sample capacity is 1.5 grams with a dynamic weight loss range of 0.1 microgram to 1.0 gram; features automated sample pan loading and unloading capability and automated furnace movement control and post-run air-cooling; features specially designed furnace for evolved gas analysis (EGA) using FT-1R or MS; includes automated step-wise isothermal heating with threshold inputs for percent weight loss per minute or micrograms loss per minute; includes instruction manual and accessory kit which contains three 100 microliter platinum sample pans, three 100 microliter ceramic pans, vial of calcium oxalate monohydrate, nickel curie point standard, magnet, magnet case, stainless steel spatula, fine brass tweezers and various accessory tools; requires a dual flow-meter for purge control. 2) Calibrated Dual Flow Meter for purge gas regulation (14.8-148 mL/min. air); includes a fine adjustment needle valve at inlet; stainless steel floats; two R-2-15AAA tubes, IN/OUT connections at back, fittings for inch I.D. hose; tripod base with level; 25 feet of inch tygon tubing included. 3) Quench Cooling Accessory (QCA) -- Highly efficient coolant reservoir that is placed directly on the DSC cell; no installation is required; when filled with liquid nitrogen, this unit provides quench cooling or operator attended programmed cooling of the DSC down to -180 C. 4) DSC Sample Press -- includes crimping die set, hermetic sealing die set, and 200 hermetic pans and covers; press will seal standard and hermetic DSC pans. 5) Cell Pressure DSC 2920 w/Kit -- Temperature range -- 180 to 725 C and 1000 psi pressure; pressure work can be done under static or dynamic purge; compatible with DSC 2920 Cell Base; provides direct digital read out of cell pressure; pressure is measured and recorded as a variable during the scan; includes accessory kit containing 200 aluminum pans and covers, indium and sapphire calibration materials; requires RMX General Analysis or Universal Data analysis to display pressure signal on a plot.
