Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with ModForum of Livonia, Michigan to provide services in a conference planning capacity. The Contractor will be responsible for providing meeting services for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) national conference in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 4-7, 2001. As the industry association for MEP Centers, the Contractor has unique expertise and knowledge of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program and what is needed for the national conference. REQUIREMENTS: Meeting Space: plenary session room/banquet area capable of holding 1100 attendees in banquet roundtable, 13-20 concurrent session rooms, exhibit space to accommodate 90 booths 10 ft. by 10 ft.. All meeting and exhibit space must be under one roof. There must be accommodations for copying and faxing on site. Sleeping Rooms: a total of 3300 sleeping rooms over the week of November 4-7, 2001, within walking distance of the meeting site using six or fewer hotels. Marketing: the capabilities for potential mailings, electronic tracking, and registration. FAR clauses and provisions referenced in this announcement may be downloaded from http://www.arnet.gov/far. This procurement is authorized by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The proposed requirement is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one lone responsible source under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting From a Single Source. The procurement document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-19. FAR 52.212-1 Instruction to Offerors-Commercial Items, FAR 52..212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, FAR 52.212.-5, Contract Terms & Conditions required to implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items are applicable to this acquisition. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed priced purchase order. This is not a request for quotations. A solicitation package is not available.
