Description
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and disposal for Anode/Pile Repairs at the U.S. Coast Guard Station, Rockland, Maine (Knox County). Work includes cleaning and surface preparation of (77) each structural steel wharf piles and application of a three (3) coat moisture-cure urethane coating system. Welding of (74) each flat bar plates to existing pilings and anodes for electrical continuity. Installation of three (3) each new sacrificial anodes where existing anodes are missing, and incidental related work. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. NAICS code is 234930. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 1 February 2001. Quotes due on or about 1 March 2001. Contractors are advised to verify the number of amendments issued with the Contracting Officer prior to the due date. Solicitation packages will not be available on line. Contact R.I. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept. of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
