Description
This is to revise previously synopsized requirement to incorporate technical clarifications. Subject solicitation is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The previous synopses combined with this clarification constitute the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N00406-01-T-0176 and will be a request for quotation (RFQ). The description information for CLIN 0001 is revised to read as follows: CLIN 0001, cutters must be capable of cleanly severing thick 1 2 inch stranded steel wire cable as described in CLIN 0002 below. Cutters to be ordnance actuated on command while submerged to a minimum depth of 4,000 FSW (2,000 psi hydrostatic pressure). Cutters shall be tested and qualified to (1) Humidity -- temperature and humidity cycling tests per MIL-STD-331 and (2) Vibration -- Shipboard vibration requirements of MIL-STD-331 and MIL-STD-167. Weight of cutter not-to-exceed 4.5 pounds. CLIN 0002 is revised to add 1 2 inch within the following sentence: Testing to be performed on a minimum 36 inch length, 1 2 inch diameter 19 x 7 strand wire rope to be provided by the government. The additional information published published in the second synopsis announcement is revised to add the following. The last two sentences of the technical information is revised to read as follows: All interior corners should have a minimum 1/2 inch radius to avoid damage to the wire rope when it passes through the cutter body. The linear velocity of the wire rope will operate at is from 1 to 3 feet per minute under the line tensions of 0-7,000 pounds. Offers are due no later than Friday, 19 Jan 01, 3:00 P.M.
