Description
NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for tasks that will require the services of professional meteorologists and related technical specialists to support and conduct weather technology studies and analyses (including problem solving leading to the development of computer program algorithms and forecast routines, models, displays, data bases, etc.). The work will use the weather data and infrastructure available on the Eastern Range to develop, evaluate and transition technology and techniques to operational products and services, and may include the support or management of meteorological and related research and technology projects. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 1000 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-A2. provisions and clauses in the RFO model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-21. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 12 February 2001 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about 29 March 2001. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
