Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for: QTY 1 FOR EACH ITEM 1. Development of the Cares/Life Prediction Code and Computational lifing methodologies. 2. Provide finite element analysis for Mems Test Speciment Configuration and technical paper. 3. Complete data analysis of CWRU derived data on thin film silicon nitiride materials. 4. Develop finite element models of pressurized silicon carbide thin film membranes. 5. After experimental data has been generated finite element analysis is to be performed to correlate individual specimen rupture pressure with facture stresses. 6. Assist in the presentation of the above tasks in the form of technical reports to the NASA community. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Connecticut Reserve Technologies, LLC(CRT). 2997 Sussex Court, Stow, OH, 44181-0361. THE AUTHORITY FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2). CRT has the expertise to assist the Life Prediction Branch here at NASA/GRC in addressing technology and development issues related to the CARES (Ceramics Analysis and Reliability Evaluation of Structures) series of products. This company has been involved in this ongoing project with NASA/GRC. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Friday, January 26, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
