Description
This Sources Sought Market Survey is seeking to identify potential suppliers (manufacturers) for a replacement tire for the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), Family of Light Armored Vehicles (FOLAV). This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a request for proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by TACOM-Warren. The current active fleet size is approximately 575 LAVs and the average monthly demand for this tire is approximately 34 per month. The replacement candidate tire must be compatible with the USMC, LAV wheel assembly, (NSN: 2530-21-879-1472) and run-flat insert, (NSN: 2640-01-164-0186). Replacement candidate tire(s) shall be supportable through the service life of the FOLAV, which is 2015. Responses to this Market Survey are due February 2,2001. The replacement tire (s) shall at least meet the following characteristics (similar to the MICHELIN 11.00R16XL tire) and enhancements. Characteristics: a. Size: 11.00R16 b. Loaded Radius: 17.8 inches c. Overall Diameter: 38.7 inches d. Revolutions Per Mile: 538 revolutions e. Overall Width: 10.9 inches f. Approximate Tread Mile Depth: 17/32 inches g. Maximum Speed: 62 miles per hour h. Maximum Load: 4520 pounds and 80 pounds per square inch i. Cut resistance tread compounds and reinforcing plies for on and off-road puncture resistance j. Self-cleaning tread/lug pattern for operations in mud and soft soil environments k. Tubeless construction Enhancements: l. Non-directional tread/lug pattern m. Sidewall reinforcements (wall thickness, steel belts, composite materials belts, etc) to prevent sidewall damage/punctures n. Improved footprint for soft-soil and mud environment. Responses should provide detailed information about the tire(s) including a detailed description, PNs, estimate costs, and any other information that will assist in the U.S. Government evaluation process, etc. The responses should identify any previous contract(s), (contract number, dollar amount, POC's, program description, etc.). All interested manufacturers regardless of size are encouraged to respond. However, companies must indicate business size with their responses.
