- Description
- The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000 and $500,000. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for drydock repairs to the USCGC NEAH BAY (WTGB-105), a 140 foot icebreaking tug and 120 foot ATON barge. The performance period is for forty-two (42) calendar days starting July 30, 2001. The scope of the acquisition is for drydock repairs, overhauling, modifying, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC NEAH BAY (WTGB-105). This work is such as but not limited to: Welding Repairs; Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel and Oil Tank(s); Clean, Inspect, and Disinfect Potable Water Tank(s)-Tug; Preserve Potable Water Tank(s)-Tug; Clean and Inspect Voids and Ballast Tanks; Clean and Inspect Sewage Seal and Holding Tank(s); Seachest Strainer Stud Modification; Renew Doors, Hatches, and Scuttles; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft; Overhaul Shaft Seal; Renew Shaft Covering; Renew Stern Tube Bearing; Renew Shaft Sleeves; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller; Perform Minor Repair and Recondition Propeller; Preserve the Transducer Hull Ring and Renew the Depth Indicating Transducer _ Barge; Test and adjust Relief Valves; Clean Engine Room Supply and Laundry Ventilation Systems; Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves _ Tug; Inspect and Test Air Receivers; Overhaul Steering Pump Motors; and Preserve superstructure, etc. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to mgrant@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4675/76. In your response you must include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers. (c) Past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 29 Jan 01. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.
