Description
The United States Department of Justice (DOJ), Wireless Management Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposals for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) subscriber equipment for use by all DOJ component agencies as well as other Federal agencies. DOJ component agencies include the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Immigration and Naturalization Service, including the U.S. Border Patrol Academy; Drug Enforcement Administration; U.S. Marshals Service; and Office of Inspector General. LMR subscriber equipment will include portable and mobile radios, vehicle adapters for portable radios, subscriber equipment accessories, portable base stations and repeaters, and key loading equipment. All LMR equipment will be required to be standards-based and commercial-off-the-shelf and meet DOJ technical specifications. All radios will be required to satisfy TIA/EIA 102 (P.25) requirements for conventional operation. Successful offerors will be required to provide radios with over-the-air keying after contract award. The Government anticipates making multiple awards from this solicitation. The Government anticipates a base period of twelve months for each resultant contract and four additional option periods of twelve months each for a total period of performance of sixty (60) months for each contract. The solicitation and other information should be available for viewing/downloading around late February, 2001, with proposals due at least 30 days thereafter.
