Description

The purpose of this solicitation consists of Lookout person services to detect and report smokes or fires within and adjacent to the Deschutes National Forest. The position will monitor and forward radio messages, and if requested, and required, take, record, and report weather conditions. Minor facilities maintenance may be performed by the Contractor using Government furnished supplies and equipment. The solicitation has two bid items, Item 01A is for Spring Butte Lookout 18 miles southeast of LaPine, Oregon. Item 01A is for 145 days and Item 01B is for 100 hours of overtime. Item 02A is East Butte Lookout for 145 hours and 02B for 100 hours overtime. Lookout is located 38 miles southeast of Bend, Oregon. Start work date is approximately May 25, 2001. There will be an additional 2 option years. The option years must be bid. The Government will determine prior to year end if it expects to renew the contract.
