Description

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) plans to issue a draft Request for Proposals (RFP) No. DE-RP05-00OR22860 January 31, 2001 to address its requirement for disposition of the Department's inventory of Uranium-233 (233U) stored at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and shutdown of the current storage facility (Bldg. 3019A. The Draft RFP is DOE's preliminary approach to achieving DOE objectives and identifying requirements for the project. DOE seeks comments from interested parties on all aspects of the draft RFP in order to ensure that the final RFP reflects the most effective approach for obtaining the required services. The draft RFP will be available at Internet address http://www.oakridge.doe.gov/u233seb/. This web site also contains other information regarding this procurement, including DOE reference information and documents. This web site will be updated periodically prior to and after release of the draft RFP. The information requested herein will be used for finalizing the RFP only. This is not a Request for Proposals. Any resulting solicitation will be published in the Commerce Business Daily at a future date. Interested parties are encouraged to e-mail comments relative to the draft RFP to Jeff Burgan at u233seb@oro.doe.gov. Comments must be received by March 2, 2001. All comments will be considered. The identity of the firm and/or the individual will be kept confidential. Written responses will not be given.
