Description
Proposals are requested to develop and deliver a training course, complying with the Federal Transit Administration's Policy on ITS Architecture Consistency and its Impact on Project Planning and Implementation. The purpose of this course is to assist transportation agencies and Federal field staff with acquiring a working knowledge of FTA's policy on National ITS Architecture consistency. This includes an understanding of the policy, the intent behind the policy, the impact of transit ITS planning and development, practical benefits of conformance and guidelines for meeting policy requirements. This one-day course will be offered to transit technical managers and supervisors involved in project planning, development and deployment, operations and maintenance managers, to representatives of planning agencies and MPOs responsible for articulating regional and local ITS architecture, and to state and Federal transportation professionals responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance to grantees relating to ITS deployment. The contract will require a list of materials, course outline, instructor's guide, participant manual, presentation of a pilot session and delivery of the course ten (10) times over six (6) months with an option to deliver up to thirty (30) times during the five-year contract period. NTI will require proposers to have had experience with the subject matter as well as experience in developing and delivering training programs. Fax or e-mail requests will be accepted; telephone requests are unacceptable. RFP's will not be faxed. Requests received by February 16, 2001 will be honored. RFPs will be mailed shortly thereafter. Proposers submitting and signing the proposal documents must be the original requesters of the proposal package.
