Description

The United States Naval Engineering Command issues a Notice of Intent to Invite Bids for a construction contract to Restore Electrical Distribution Systems, Phase I, NAS Keflavik, Iceland. The project includes repairs to the existing 4.16 and 13.2 kV overhead and underground electrical distribution systems at NAS Keflavik. Specific elements proposed for this project includes: (1) replace #1, #2, #11, and #3, (2)repairs to the existing switchgear at the base power station, including new reverse power replays (3) replace hazardous oil fused cutout/switches at various locations, (4) new transformers and circuit breakers to existing facilities, and (5) replace feeder #3 from the existing power plant to the West End, including new automatic transfer switch and new ductbank. It is anticipated that the successful offeror will be required to shcedule outgages to minimize the disruption to operational facilities and/or provide temporary power during extended outages. The operational facilities will remain open during the performance period of this contract. All applicants must be certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Telecommunications.
