Description

The National Park Service, Yellowstone National Park, is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The statement of work includes furnishing all labor, materials and equipment required for the construction of two employee apartment buildings at the Old Faithful Residential Employee Area of Yellowstone National Park. The work shall consist of constructing two site-built or pre-manufactured (at contractor's option) multiplex housing units, exterior concrete aprons, the clearing of shown utility and driveway access routes, specified utilities, rough grading, and final topsoil site grading. One building shall have 4 apartments and the other building shall contain 2 apartments. The buildings shall be complete with full basements and attached garages. Each apartment shall have 2 baths, 2 bedrooms, a livingroom, a diningroom, a kitchen, and a utility room. The attached garages shall be located on the ends of the buildings and their size corresponds to the number of apartments in each building, one car per apartment. The exterior shall be painted fibrous cement lap siding, wood trim, and a factory finished standing seam metal roof. Both buildings shall include a complete electrical system, a hydronic baseboard heat system, a fire detection system, a fire sprinkler system, and a telephone and SATV system. The nearest community outside the park is approximately 30 miles away from Old Faithful at West Yellowstone, Montana. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2001, and the approximate completion date is 10-31-02. The estimated price range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. A pre-proposal conference will not be held. Award of a single contract will be made to the best value offeror. Because this acquisition could result in an award over $1,000,000, a subcontracting plan will be required by the selected firm if the firm is a large business concern. This solicitation is issued pursuant to Public law 100-656, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All requests for solicitations must be made in writing.
