Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Business Center, hereby intends to issue a solicitation for Readjustment Counseling services located in the San Luis Obispo County area for the Vet Center, Santa Barbara, California. Readjustment counseling for the purpose of this solicitation is counseling provided by Ph.D. Psychologists to any eligible veteran requesting service for psychological and/or social problems arising from their military service if the problems impair the veteran's post-war readjustment to civilian life. The Contractor will be required to provide a service delivery mechanism, emphasizing and understanding the readjustment problems of veterans who served during the Vietnam era, and Post-Vietnam Armed Conflict Zones, and the provisions of counseling specifically tailored for such problem, in a relatively unstructured, client oriented setting, located outside existing Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) facilities. The group of individuals eligible to receive readjustment counseling services include any veteran who served in a theater of combat operations during World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia and Kosovo. This is a small business set-aside (NAICS Code 621330). The contract shall be for one (1) Base Year, with the Government having the option to extend for two (2) one year periods. The anticipated issue date will be on or about February 20, 2001 with responses due on or about March 16, 2001.
