- PUBLISHED FIRST TIME TODAY THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF THE WARM SPRINGS RESERVATION OF OREGON SPOTTED OWL MONITORING/ ESA COMPLIANCE The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon is seeking proposals to conduct monitoring, surveys and research of the Northern Spotted Owl and to assist Tribal and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) personnel in complying with the Endangered Species Act (ESA) with regard to land use and management activities affecting listed species. Proposal packets may be obtained by calling the Purchasing Department at (541) 553-3254 or by writing to: Elizabeth A. Chase, Purchasing/Contracting Manager, The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, PO Box 1169/1233 Veterans Street, Warm Springs, OR 97761. The Warm Springs Reservation encompasses approximately 1,000 square miles located on the eastern slope of the Cascade mountain range in north-central Oregon. Spotted Owls are spread over approximately 247,390 acres of mixed coniferous forest in the western third of the Reservation. The closing date for requesting Proposal Packets is February 23, 2001. The initial Proposal response due date is March 01, 2001.
