- Description
- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration intends to negotiate with Claritas, Inc., Norcross, GA for the use of site licenses, technical support, and training for their Compass system software and databases, as well as the PRIZM lifestyle cluster database. An important aspect of the Agency's research and program development is use of proprietary socio-geodemographic databases to identify populations and determine the particular characteristics of people who are at risk for a variety of traffic safety problems and to identify critical characteristics for targeting countermeasure programs to specific populations. Over the course of approximately ten (10) years, the NHTSA has used specific propriety software and databases developed by Claritas, Inc. It is critical that the existing databases and software licenses continue to be used to ensure compatibility. The anticipated period of performance is for a base period of twelve (12) months with four one year option periods. A fixed price contract is anticipated. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, nor is a Request for Proposal (RFP) currently available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. In the absence of responses from interested firms demonstrating their capability and lack of conflict of interest, NHTSA intends to request a proposal from Claritas, Inc., on a noncompetitive basis for the work described. Responses must be received by the listed procuring office within 15 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Oral expressions of interest will not be
