Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Trane Chicago Service, Willowbrook IL for the maintenance, overhaul and emergency repairs of Trane Equipment located at the Chicago Health Care System, West Side and Lakeside Divisions. This solicitation is for the period beginning March 1, 2001 through February 28, 2002 plus three (3) option renewal periods. NAICS 81131. Equipment includes Five (5) CenTraVacs, Two (2) Refrigerant Monitors, five (5) Building Automation Systems (BAS); two (2) Reciprocating Compressors; two (2) Condensers and one (1) cold water generator. This work also included the overhaul of the Chillers (one each year) throughout the duration of the contract. To the best of our knowledge, Trane Chicago Service, the manufacture of the equipment is the only available source who employs personnel that are factory trained on this specific equipment, the only authorized supplier of required parts and the only company that maintains on hand a supply of repair parts that are accessible in a timely fashion. Certification on training, knowledge and experience in maintaining equipment is required. Interested parties that believe they can meet the VA's needs must supply information about their capabilities no later than 12:00 pm on February 20, 2001. Vendors must provide evidence of their experience in working on the equipment identified. Oral communications are not acceptable. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.
