Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division has a requirement for an additional 110,500 labor hours of engineering and analytical support services for Naval machinery research and development programs under Contract No. N00167-99-D-0001 with Analysis and Technologies, Engineering Technology Center, Route 2, PO Box 220, North Stonington, CT 06359-0220. This contract consists of task areas as follows: (1) new hull mechanical and electrical devices; (2) development of analytical and finite element models; (3) evaluation of Navy equipment applications and trade-off assessments of component characteristics; (4) conduct of material studies and testing; (5) reduction of infrared, acoustic and electromagnetic signatures; (6) identification of machinery manning requirements; (7) human factor analysis; (8) product reliability and maintainability; (9) system interface; and (10) functional component analysis. The intended source is Analysis and Technologies under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c )(1) only one responsible source because it is not possible at this stage of program maturity to find another contractor with the capabilities, familiarity, and experience to continue work under this contract. The RFP will be issued on or about 14 February 2001 to Analysis and Technologies and due date for proposal will be 30 days thereafter. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by this agency. See numbered note (22).
