Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to issue a solicitation for the Phase II Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) research effort for the state of Kentucky. This effort shall include extensive and often complex tononymic research from primary sources and secondary materials including maps, texts, and charts. The expected performance period is 48 months. Offerors must demonstrate expertise in toponymic research and cartographic application of geographic names. Of paramount importance is a demonstrated access to primary and local sources for compilation of information. Cost sharing is encouraged. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Requests for solicitation 01ERSS0005 must be in writing.
