Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for purchase of 83 each Input/Output Serial Boards, RS422, AAI P/N 62828-90090-1 or XYCOM P/N 70491-001, NSN: 5998-01-368-8653, ASN: S100-1A2A5; and 73 each Input/Output Digital Board (Jumped), AAI P/N 62828-90088-1 or XYCOM P/N 70290-001, NSN: 5998-01-390-2151, ASN: S100-1A2A15-1. The drawing for these items are considered source controlled. The only other approved source of supply known for these parts is XYCOM, 750 N. Maple Road, Saline, MI 48176. These items are being purchased for the National Weather Service, to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. The items support the Automated Surface & Operation System (ASOS) Electronic Technician (ET) spares kit program. As these parts are in support of current ASOS program, alternative or like items would not be acceptable without extensive testing. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions. Any small business sources, able to provide the exact make and model of the equipment reference herein is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days after its publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, its name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding its capability to provide the specified equipment. Also include the name, telephone number, and point of contact for businesses or other government agency to which it has previously provided the item. Failure to provide the required information will deem your request non-responsive. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The anticipated award date shall be within 20 days after the date of this announcement. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this action is 3679. This requirement shall be considered a small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency.
