Description

It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure professional microfilm preparation services on a sole source basis with Atlis Federal Services, Silver Spring, MD. This continuation of service will provide NLM interim services (approximately three months) to prepare brittle and rare monographs and serials in NLM's collection for preservation microfilming during the processing of a competitive contract. Atlis Federal Services will continue to provide the searching of bibliographic utilities, performing page-by-page collation, producing targets, programming reels, checking in microfilm and filmed volumes, updating NLM's online catalog, boxing filmed volumes in poor condition, and tracking the status of volumes throughout the preparation process. This company is the only available source for the continuation services on an interim period based on their nine (9) years knowledge and experience in providing this service to NLM. Atlis Federal Services is skilled and capable of completing the current workload within the three month period specified. This services will provide NLM short term services during the evaluation stage for a new contractor. This requirement is being procured using FAR Part 13 -- Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide professional service as specified and listed above. Responses should sufficiently demonstrate the firm's ability to meet the government's requirements. Responses are required within fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this notice.
