Description

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Fenske Companies, 2120 3rd Avenue North, Billings, Montana 59101-2212, a for-profit, communications firm, for 8000 copies of their educational and informative book entitled "Under Fire the West is Burning". The publication was developed jointly with Fenske and the USDA Forest Service and its cooperating wildland firefighting agencies in the Department of the Interior under MOU #01-IA-111302-001. This action is authorized by and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a request for quotation or a solicitation for offers or other competitive proposals. No solicitation documents is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that a comparable source is available and competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the need. Detailed capabilities must be submitted by close of business March 5, 2001 to ATTN: Kay Ryan, fax 208-387-5574. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative written responses are received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice.
