Description

This modification is to correct this notice to a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Government has a requirement for trailers to transport up to three (3) U. S. Postal Service Long Life Vehicles (LLV's) to and from maintenance facilities. Approximate dimensions of an LLV is 71" to 76" wide, 175" to 190" long and weighs between 3400 and 3600 lbs. The dimensions of the required trailer is 48 feet long by 96 inches wide. The trailer shall attach to the tow vehicle via fifth wheel. A given trailer shall be equipped with single or tandem axles as specified and air or electric brakes as specified. The solicitation will result in a requirements contract consisting of one base year with four, one year option periods for a total possible contract duration of five years. The solicitation will issue on, or about January 16, 2001 and close February 20, 2001. The solicitation will be available for download from the electronic posting system located on the internet at: http://eps.gov/ The solicitation contains an economic price adjustment clause. Price adjustments, if any, will be effective at the beginning of the option periods and will be based on changes in the Producer Price Index as developed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the applicable product code contained in the solicitation. The vehicle shall be built in accordance with the purchase description as developed by Engineering Branch, Office of Vehicle Acquisition & Leasing Services, Automotive Division. Delivery shall be 90 days from order placement.
