- Description
- Under the authority granted in FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agendy intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Harvard School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health to manufacture an Ultra Fine Concentrated Air Particle Exposure System for use in determining the health effects of Ultra Fine Mode Ambient Aerosols. This exposure system shall allow continuation and expansion of existing on-site concentrated air particle research. The Harvard School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health is the sole source with the unique capability to manufacture this unit based on equipment previously developed and patented by Dr. Koutakis at the Harvard School of Public Health. The NAICS code for this equipment will be 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). Some of the major components of this system include conventional inlet impactor to remove particles greater than 2.5 um, Ultra Fine Particle Concentrating equipment, system vacuum pumps and blowers, monitoring and control instrumentation hardware and software, operator training and system performance suport THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. Any firm which is capable of meeting these requirements may submit technical documentation to establish that it can furnish the Ultra Fine Concentrated Air Particle Exposure System. Only those firms which submit such documentation will be considered. Technical documentation must be submitted with 15 days of this notice to the office identified above.
