Description

The project contract will require a contractor to provide all necessary management, quality control, labor, materials, and equipment required to construct a new computer facility and renovate an existing administrative building. The work includes but is not limited to: (1) Building 91 is to be constructed to house the FLETC computer system and ancillary equipment. This building will be a stand-alone building with a covered walkway to the building being renovated. (2) Asbestos and lead paint removal in the building to be renovated. (3) Renovation of Building 94. Building 94 was originally constructed and used as a medical clinic by the U.S. Navy but through previous renovation projects has been converted to administrative office space and used as the headquarters building. The current renovation will further enhance the overall image of a headquarters building and will include, but is not limited to, the following: demolition of existing exterior windows, interior partitions, doors, ceilings, mechanical systems, fire alarms and fire protection system, security system, parking, plumbing systems and fixtures, electrical systems, and light fixtures; provision of new exterior windows, interior partitions, doors ceilings, finishes, mechanical systems, plumbing systems and fixtures, electrical systems, light fixtures, power and communication outlets. An enhanced entrance, with a standing seam metal roof, 100-person conference room, handicap accessible ramps, and renovation of building exterior surfaces will also be included such as landscaping and irrigation system. The estimated project cost range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This project is being solicited utilizing a negotiated acquisition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Par 6.401. Discussions with the offerors responding to the solicitation is anticipated. The Solicitation, with evaluation criteria, will be available on/or about March 16, 2001.
