THIS IS MODIFICATION NO. 1 TO THE SYNOPSIS FOR X-38/V201 HORIZON SENSOR, SOLICITATION NO. 9-BH13-20-01-03P, WHICH WAS POSTED ON JANUARY 26, 2001. YOU ARE NOTIFIED THAT THE FOLLOWING CHANGES ARE MADE: The status of this procurement is changed from non-competitive to full and open competition. NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for one flight qualified X-38/V201 Horizon Sensor, with an option for one spare Horizon Sensor. The V201 spacecraft requires the sensor to output DC voltages, have one mounting fixture for a multiple sensor design, and be single fault tolerant. This procurement is being conducted under the Commercial Items Procedures. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 33422 and 750 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-21. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about February 26, 2001 with an anticipated offer due date of March 16, 2001. An Ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
