- Description
- 95 -- Fabricate and deliver two (2) each stoplogs that are used to dewater the navigation lock at McNary Dam. When used, the stoplogs are placed in slots in the concrete structure immediately downstream from the lock's downstream gate. Stoplogs contain fracture critical members. The fabrication shop must be certified under the AISC Quality Certification Program for Major Steel Bridges (Cbr) with Fracture Critical Endorsement (F). Structural steel is ASTM A588. Steel used for the fracture critical members must be Charpy V-Notch tested. Stoplogs are 91' long by 4' wide by 11.5' tall. Each weighs approximately 30 tons. Stoplogs are fabricated from steel shapes and plates. Stoplogs are to be shop painted after fabrication. Deliver stoplogs by barge to the navigation lock channel just downstream from the nav lock gate. The Government will unload the stoplogs and place them in the slots. The contractor shall provide underwater diver to clean the sill plates on the channel bottom before the first stoplog is installed. After the stoplogs are installed, the Government will pick and place the old stoplogs on the contractor's barge for removal and disposal by the contractor. The Government will provide crane service to pick and place the new and the old stoplogs. The contract will be a firm, fixed-price type. This procurement is unrestricted, open to both large and small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit an offer which may be considered. NAICS classification for this acquisition is 332312. The small business size standard is 500 employees. This synopsis is not an invitation for bids, but a notice that a solicitation will be issued. IFB will be issued on or about 14 March, with bid opening on or about 12 April, 2001.
